The peculiar design of this corner building with two very different façades is due to the fact that at the time of construction the building was a suburban estate. In addition, until the 1980s, the estate had an orchard-garden occupying what it is today calle Almendra.
This house was commissioned by an engineer who worked for an electricity company in the city. The owner´s Andalusian origin is reflected in the entrance hall of the house and in the decoration of the window moulding with flowers, bottoms, circles, and geometric motifs.
The uniqueness of the façade of Casa Rodríguez Fernández lies in the gabled roof and the rounded window profile of the upper level.
Inside the building, other elements of interest have been preserved, such as hydraulic tiles and the tiling of the doorway. The staircase leading to the first floor is adorned with a finely crafted iron banister, as was customary in bourgeois modernism.
