The house was remodelled after suffering a fire and it was decided to extend the building between party walls by adding two levels. Thus, the façade of casa López now looks onto calle Magdalena, only seven meters wide, where part of the pre-existing stonework is preserved stonemasonry and where the traditional layout of the Ferrol galleries is respected. Beyond that, the architect added an attic, which is extended under the roof and opens onto each façade of the building.
The interior layout of Casa López is conventional, and the building is a good example of modernist woodwork in which Art Nouveau is limited to the geometric play of the galleries and the corbels that finish them off on the sides.
The decorative motifs are based on a combination of circles and semicircles on the highest curtains of the galleries, using different shapes for each one. In the original design, the cornice ended in decorative elements that completed the half-circles on the final level.
