This building was erected at 183 Calle Real, and from its establishment in 1878 until 1938, it housed the printing and editorial offices of El Correo Gallego before merging with El Eco de Santiago.
In addition to the printing and editorial offices of the newspaper, the building was the residence and studio of the architect Rodolfo Ucha, who in 1912 was commissioned to extend the building towards calle Magdalena.
The refurbishment was organised around two patios intended to provide light and ventilation, decorated with interior stained glass windows and exposed iron columns.
The level of Calle Magdalena is lower than that of Calle Real. For that reason, the façade is divided into three vertical strips and two horizontal levels. The large bays on the ground floor conceal the intermediate mezzanine.
The façade was modified in a refurbishment carried out in 1992 and an attic was opened on the roof, which extends the real levels of the building to four, although from the street they appear to be two.
