The building was built as a single-family home for Emilio Antón Iboleón, a merchant, diplomat and mayor of Ferrol in three different periods between 1899 and 1912. In 1957, the Jesús Maestro School was established there, which still has part of its facilities in the building to this day.
The large plot of land outside the city centre allowed the building to be complemented with terraces, courtyards and a rear garden, as well as the lookout tower.
The exterior image of Casa Antón was built thanks to the combination of modernist elements with others typical of neoeclecticism. Thus, we can see the iron and glass pergola over the entrance door, the lookout tower on the corner of the building or the plant ornaments on the parapet and the lower part of the tower. The enclosure of the estate, which combines brick and wrought iron, remains as a testimony to its glorious past.
